Durkee Bard, 90, McConnellsburg, died Tuesday, December 25, 2007, at Washington County Hospital, Hagerstown.

Born October 25, 1917, in Johnstown, he was the son of the late Sherman Bard and Goldie (Pittman) Bard. He was the widower of Juanita (Kline) Bard.

He was an active member of Pleasant Ridge Nazarene Church,Harrisonville, where he served in various capacities, including 30 years as the Sunday School superintendent and Nazarene Camp Trust. He was a carpenter by trade and was a member of Local 950 of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America.

He is survived daughters: Ramona Geiman, Chambersburg; Guynethia Bard, McConnellsburg; and Raneeta DeShong, Fayetteville; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and sisters: Edna Allison, Hope Sound, Fla.; and Faye Bard, Point Pleasant, W.Va.

He was preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers.

Funeral services were held Saturday, December 29, at 11:00 a.m., at Pleasant Ridge Nazarene Curch, Harrisonville.Rev. Dan Porterfield officiated. Burial was made in Pleasant Ridge Nazarene Cemetery, Harrisonville.
