P.L. Chesemore
Services for P.L. Chesemore, 69, who died at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Mercy hospital, Janesville, where he had been a patient since Monday, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Overton funeral home. The Rev. R.H. Rosenau of Mt. Calvary Lutheran church will officiate and burial will be in the Oak Hill cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Friday night.
A retired farmer, Mr. Chesemore was employed for 14 years by the Tracey Oil Co., before becoming associated with the W. A. Van Velzer Tobacco Co. last December. He was born Dec. 1, 1876, in Richland Center and came to Rock county in 1897, settling in the town of La Prairie. He married Mildred Proctor in 1902 and they made their home in La Prairie until moving to Janesville in 1924. Mrs. Chesemore died in 1933. On Dec 31, 1943, Mr. Chesemore married Ida Miller, in Rockford, Ill.
Surviving are his wife, a son, Kenneth Chesemore and three grandsons, Gerald, David and James Chesemore, town of La Prairie; a step-daughter, Mrs. Bernice Buggs; a step-son, Robert Miller, and a step-great granddaughter, Karen Buggs, all of Janesville.
