Ernest Delbert "Deb" Bennett, 70, of Parkersburg, passed away on April 1, 2011, at Camden Clark Medical Center, Memorial Campus.

He was born Nov. 15, 1940, in Parkersburg, a son of the late Earnest C. and Ora K. Hannah Bennett.

"Deb" retired from AGA Gas where he had worked for 28 years. He was a very active member of Lauckport United Methodist Church where he had served as a trustee, usher, custodian and was part of the administrative council.

"Deb" is survived by his wife, Donna McClung Bennett; daughter, Darlene Haverty and John, and son, Dwayne Bennett and Patty, all of Parkersburg; grandson, Michael Haverty; granddaughters, Amber and Breanna Bennett; great-grandson, Austin Sindledecker; sister, Sylvia Leep of Front Royal, Va.; brother, Thomas R. Bennett of Lubeck; and sister, Carolyn A. Hart of Parkersburg.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Earl "Bud" Bennett and Ralph Bennett.

The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg, with Pastors Kenneth Noland and Norman Butler officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memory Gardens. Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 Monday and prior to the service on Tuesday.
