Son of Vernon & Grace Hachett Adair. As a child his family moved to Ames, where he attended school. He enlisted in the U.S.Air Force in 1949 and was station in Germany. After his discharge, he moved to Marshalltown, where he worked for the Strand Baking Co. In 1954, he married JoAnn Tesdall. They moved to Fort Dodge in 1960. He retired in 1996.
Survivors include his wife, JoAnn; daughter Darla Mosbach, Webster City; sons, Dean Adair, Fort Dodge and Timothy Adair, Sloan; 7 grandchildren; one g-grandchild; and a sister, Ilene Johnson, Des Moines. He was preceded in death by his parents.
