Jessie Frances Craw Zirkle, 92, of Kingston, died Palm Sunday, March 28, 2010.

Born Sept. 1, 1917, in Schuylerville, N.Y., she was the daughter of William Roy Craw and Ethel Mayleon Fuller Craw. She became a Christian early in life, and she was a radiant example of life well lived. She was known as a woman of God, especially as a “prayer warrior.” Amidst multiple health challenges later in life, she remained joyful and engaged in life, being supportive of others as she was able. She attended Tusculum College, where she met her husband. Her favorite times were spent with family. She was an exceptional homemaker, mother and helpmate in her husband’s businesses.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister-in-law, Charles Roy and Bobbie Craw and William Edison “Bud” Craw.

Survivors include her husband, Joseph Zirkle, to whom she was married for more than 70 years; three daughters and sons-in-law, Kathleen Zirkle Ellis and Bob Ellis, Kingston, Linda Zirkle King and Don King, Knoxville, and Judy Zirkle King Politzer and Michael Politzer, Franklin; eight grandchildren and six spouses, Jenny King Neeley and Blake Neeley and daughters Elizabeth and Anna Katherine, Nashville, Brian Eric and Diane Ownby and sister Geneva, Dandridge, Rachel Whitney King Reidinger and Josh Reidinger and daughters Ellen and Camille, Birmingham, Ala., Jack Donald III and Emily King, Patrick Andrew and Caroline King and son Auguste, Heather Noel Ownby and Jordan David and Allie King, all of Knoxville, and Cameron Elizabeth King of Eleuthera, Bahamas; a sister-in-law, Phyllis Craw; and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial service in celebration of her life was at 2 p.m. Monday, March 29, in Bethel Presbyterian Church, Kingston, with her grandsons, Jack and Patrick King, officiating. Burial was at Oak Grove Cemetery, Rockwood. Evans Mortuary, Rockwood, was in charge of arrangements.
