Charlie Henry Baker was born December 30, 1888 in Paris, Texas to James R. Baker and Margaret E. White. He was short in stature and was nicknamed "Shorty", which is what most people called him. He had a wonderful disposition and was loved by his family. He never married and lived for awhile with his brother, John Albert Baker and finally came to live with his sister, Dora Bell Baker (Little) (McPherson)in Sand Springs, Oklahoma. It has been said that Charlie Henry Baker was found singing up until the last moment of his life. He and his niece, Lucille Little (Carver) had finished dinner together and were washing the dishes. During this time, Charlie was singing the old hymns, "When The Roll Is Called Up Yonder" and "In The Sweet By And By". When they finished the dishes, Lucille stepped out of the house for a few minutes and Charlie Henry walked across the room, sat down in a chair, and went to be with the Lord forever. He is buried next to his sister, Dora in Belleville Cemetery, Lockesburg, Arkansas.

On that bright and cloudless morning when the dead in Christ shall rise, and the glory of His resurrection share;
When His chosen ones shall gather to their home beyond the skies, and the roll is called up yonder, I'll be there. (James Milton Black)
