WILLIAM FRANKLIN CUMMINGS
William Franklin (Bill) Cummings, of Abbeville, died Saturday, April 2, 2011, at his home. He was 76. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, April 6, 2011, in the Holman-Abbeville Mortuary Chapel with Reverend Thomas D. Gamble officiating. Burial will follow in the Abbeville Memorial Cemetery-East. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 A. M. Wednesday at the mortuary. Mr. Cummings was born and reared in Henry County, son of the late James Edward Cummings and Mabel Money Cummings. He lived in Chicago, Illinois before returning to Henry County twenty years ago. Mr. Cummings was a retired employee of Uniroyal Tire & Rubber Company in Chicago. He was preceded in death by two brothers, James Edward (BB) Cummings and Robert E. (Bob) Cummings. Surviving relatives include two daughters, Kathy Ketterhagen and husband, Donald, Burlington, Wisconsin; Judy Bourgeois and husband, Roy, Meraux, Louisiana; four sisters, Mickey Davis, Atlanta; Betty Cummings and Margaret Woelfle, both of Chicago; Linda Beckham and husband, Durwood, Gastonia, NC; two brothers, Donald (Pug) Cummings, Shorterville; and Paul Cummings, Charleston, SC; a sister-in-law, Sarah Baker Cummings, Abbeville; five grandchildren.
