Cora Alice Ames, Hight, departed from her earthly tabernacle, in Etna Green, Tuesday, 7-13-1943, 9:25 A.M., after a lingering illness that dated from a fall in her home 7-17-1941. Death occurred at the home of her son Clarence Mattson, and family, Etna Green, Indiana; the place of her birth 9-22-1866; aged 76 years, 9 months and 21 days. She was the daughter of Thomas and Harriet Hight, one of eight children born to that union; of which one brother, Samuel, alone survives. The mother of these children was taken from them by death in their early youth. In due time their father remarried, to which union a half brother, Fred, and two half sisters, Bertha and Jennie, were born, all of whom are still living. She spent the major portion of her life in community, and leaves to mourn her passing a son, Clarence Mattson, and wife; a daughter, Mrs. Emma Cole, and husband, South Whitley; a son Earl Muffley, and wife, of Plymouth, and their families consisting of six grandchildren; also several nieces and nephews and a number of friends. Following the funeral service held in the son's home, Thursday afternoon of last week, the body was buried in the Etna Green Cemetery. Rev. Sears, of the Church of Christ, conducted the service.
