Michael Bailey Hawkins, was born on Saturday, May 7, 1960, in the car on the way to the hospital, in Chicago, Illinois. Michael was born to Burdella Bailey, and Dennis Marvin Hawkins, and was the younger brother of Dennis William Hawkins.

Michael like his Grandmother, Sally Bailey, and Mother, Burdella, joined Eighth Church of Christ Science, Chicago, Illinois. Michael, became a member of Eighth Church of Christ Science, on September 13, 1992. Michael, served as Second Reader and First Reader. Michael also served on the Eighth Church Board of Directors.

Michael married Patricia Ann Brooks, in July 26. 1988, in Chicago, Illinois. To this union was born; Devin Patrice Hawkins, and Kamia Devon Hawkins. The marriage was dissolved in December, 1992.

Michael married Victoria Sara Amedee on July 30, 2005. Victoria & Michael would remain married until his death.

Michael was employed by Marshal Field Department store, in Chicago, Illinois. In 1989 he was employed by the Railroad Retirement Board as a Human Resource Assistant. In 2001 he was transferred to the United States Customs Border & Protection Agency, in Human Resources.

Michael had a great of God the Father and His Son our Lord Jesus Christ. He also had a great love for fast cars, and at one time owned a Trans Am, and was a member of the Trans Am Car club.

My brother, Michael Bailey Hawkins, died, on Monday, April 4, 2011, at the age of 50. Michael fought a gallant two year battle with brain cancer, so he could remain with his loved ones, and serve our God. In his two year fight he had eight surgeries, suffered greatly, but never lost his faith in Almighty God & the Lord Jesus Christ. Now his battle is over, may Michael rest in peace.

Michael, leaves to cherish his memory, wife; Vicky, children; Devin & Kamia, grandchildren; Antoine Denell and Antonio Tarez, Mic-Kala, and Ann-Drea, brother; Dennis (Deborah), nieces; Burdella (Chad) Edson, Monique Hawkins, nephew; Dennis Hawkins. And a host of other relatives.

Michael was buried on Monday, April 11, 2011, at Historical Lincoln Cemetery, next to his grandparents.
