Robert Reed was founder of Boothsville , West Virginia. About 1833, he operated a hotel in the area and about the same time secured a post office. In 1839 he laid out the community of Boothsville and gave two lots for a Baptist meeting house. A copy of the Daguerreotype depicting Robert Booth was gifted by John Richard Holt of Kilarm, WV, to the "Bulletin Board", issue Dec 12-14, 1995, and published on page 6. He was twice married (Malinda Thomas Martin and Sarah Ann Winter). One known child: Virginia Miller. His death records indicates he died "near Boothsville" but in Taylor County.
