Winton Adonnis Alt BRISTOL, Tenn. Winton Adonnis Alt, 88, passed away Tuesday, March 29, 2011. Winton was born in Petersburg, W.Va., and retired from Springfield State Hospital in Sykesville, Md., as a nurse after 30 years. Winton was a member of Anderson Street United Methodist Church of Bristol Virginia. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army who served during the Korean War and in Japan. Winton was a model train hobbyist. Winton is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Gertrude Alt; a brother, Donald Alt and his wife, Betty, of Morgansville, Md.; along with numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted on Friday, April 1, 2011, at 11 a.m. at Anderson Street United Methodist Church, 954 Anderson St., Bristol TN 37620, with the Rev. Barbara Clark, Pastor officiating. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow the service at Knollkreg Memorial Park, Abingdon, Va. Military honors will be conducted by the Highlands Veterans Honor Guard and the Virginia National Guard Honor Guard.
