Mr. Tharpe is survived by one daughter Virginia D. Tharpe of Tallahassee; two brothers Annis C. (Charlotte) Tharpe of Monticello and Burtcham (Louvenia) Tharpe of Woodville, Florida; one sister Dona (Edgar) Connell of Wacissa, Florida; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Fletcher and Sallie Grantham Tharpe; three brothers Ormond Tharpe, William H. Tharpe, and his twin brother Elijah Tharpe.
