Daughter of Roger and Joanna Ford Clapp
She married Jonathan Simpson, on April 03, 1673 in Charlestown, Suffolk Co. Massachusetts the marriage was performed by William Stenton. They had two children who lived to grow up. She lived a widow about twelve years, and died in Boston, May 3, 1717, in her 69th year, in the house in which her father and mother lived and died, and was buried near her parents.
When Wait was baptized, her father, (Lieutenant at the time of her baptism) Roger, told the congregation- that the reason he called her Wait was because he believed the reign of anti-Christ would soon be over. He doubtless thought she might live to see the day!
