At Rest
Died, at his home in the town of Leola, Wis., June 8, 1896, Ansil Walker. Deceased was born in Cortland Co., New York in 1827, and moved with his parents to Kenosha, Wis., in 1843. He was married to Mrs. Anna Smith, in 1855, and they moved to the town of Leola in 1873, where they have since resided. He leaves to mourn his loss a widow, four sons, five daughters, one brother, Sylvester Walker, of Marcellon, Wis., and one sister living in Iowa.
He was a kind obliging neighbor and always an honest, upright man. Funeral services were held at the house, conducted by Rev. Sparks, the text being in Isaiah, XLII Chapter. The funeral was largely attended by friends and neighbors who paid their last tribute of respect to one who was respected and loved by all. The remains were laid to rest in the Leola cemetery.
