Violet Louise (Vogel) Crouthamel was the daughter of Sophie and Joseph Vogel.

Sophie and Joseph Vogel, and their three children, Lillian, Violet and Harry, settled in Maywood. Growing up during the Depression.

Vi married Ronald Clarke Crouthamel in 1941, and they settled in Culver City where they raised their two daughters, Barbara Jean and Margie Jane.

During the early years, Ronnie worked at Douglas Aircraft Company and served in the U.S. Army Air Corp during World War Two, and then returned to Douglas for a full career in Aerospace after the war.

When Ronnie retired from McDonnell-Douglas in 1978, Vi and Ronnie bought a home in Santa Maria where they both lived until 1997, when Ronnie passed away.

In addition to her two daughters, Vi had two granddaughters: Nancy and JoAnne, and five great-grandchildren: Kyle, Mikey, Madeline, Maribelle and Tyler.
Vi was a person who truly cherished her family members and her many, many friends. She gave her heart-felt love to each of them and in return, was loved by all throughout her long and wonderful life.
