Obituary: Mildred Callison, 79

Mildred Anne Callison, 79, of Mountain Home, died Thursday, Dec. 15, 2005, at a Boise hospital. Funeral Services were held on Tuesday, Dec. 20, at Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel, Mountain Home. Mildred was born June 14, 1926, the daughter of Claude and Merian Denton in Tipton, Ind. She grew up on a farm in southern Indiana and moved to Detroit in her teens. She worked for "Ford" in an airplane factory, building the top gunner turret of the B-26, during WWII.

She met her first husband, Don Stiles, in Massachusetts and later married in Florida. She had her son, Donald, in 1945. She later divorced Don in 1950. He met and married Charles Callison in 1953, and they had Kimberly and Keith. They were an Air Force family and moved frequently. In 1963, the family settled in Mountain Home and remained. Mildred worked as a volunteer at the city library and the Mountain Home Visitor's Center. She was a substitute teacher at East Elementary, a Red Cross Volunteer, a Brownie Troop Leader and active in the First Congregational Church.

Mildred is survived by: her sons, Donald and his wife, Cindy Callison, of Florida, Keith and his wife, Linda, of New Mexico, a daughter, Kim, and her husband, Krister Fast,of Washington, a sister, Betty Wilder, of Boise, and a brother, Bill Denton, of California.
