Mrs. Nora Cannon Ouzts, 87, died Tuesday night [March 27, 1962] at the home of her son, Dave Singley, Rt. 1, Pomaria. She had been in declining health for the past several years. Mrs. Ouzts was born and reared at Prosperity, a daughter of the late Henry D. and Ellen Livingston Cannon. She had spent several years in Union County, near Jonesville, but for the past several years she had made her home with er son neat Pomaria. She was a member of the Mt. Tabor Lutheran Church. She had been married three time, her first was the late G. M. Singley, her second was the late Henry Todd, and third was the late Yancy C. Ouzts. She is survived by four sons, George D. Singley of Pomaria, J. T. Todd of Chester and B. B. Todd of Little Mountain and Clarence W. Ouzts of Summerville; one daughter, Mrs. Mattie Oakley of Columbia; eleven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Interment at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church cemetery. McSwain Funeral Home. The Newberry Observer, March 30, 1962.
