LENA Norman Ducaine Sr., 61, Lena, Rt. 3, was fatally injured In a logging accident near Mountain Monday afternoon. He was born May 21, 1904, in Green Bay, and at the age of four moved with his parents to Lena. Mr. Ducaine operated a farm at Lena, Rt. 3, until retirement in 1963 and was employed part time in logging operations. Since 1963 he had been employed full time in logging. On Sept. 30, 1928, he married the former Esther Demmith, she preceded him in death in 1960. On April 29, 1961, he married the former Gladys Wood Gilligan. Mr. Ducaine was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church, Lena. Survivors include his wife; his mother, Mrs. Julia Ducaine, Lena; six daughters, Mrs. Edwin Swatnicki, Peshtlgo; Mrs Joseph Starzer, Crivitz; Mrs Charles Schnell, Porterfield; Mrs. Shirley Mullen, Mrs. Henry Berkhout, Mrs. Richard Nelson, all of Chicago, Ill.; five sons, Robert and Harold, both of Lena; Norman Jr., and Dale, both of Crivitz; Walter, Chicago, Ill.; one sister, Mrs James LaFortune, Lena; a half sister, Mrs. Joseph Scheiner, Green Bay; 27 grandchildren; 11 stepchildren including Ruth, Kelly, Daniel and Loren Gilligan, all at home. At Rhodes Mortuary, Coleman, from 2 p.m. Friday until 9:15 a.m. Saturday, then at the St. Charles Catholic Church, Lena. Rosary 8:30 p.m. Friday. Funeral 10 a.m. Saturday, the church, the Rev. Arthur J, Danks officiating. Burial in the church cemetery.
