"Willie" son of William H. Kerns and Lucy Bishop. Willie was working hard in the field, on a very hot day. Overcome by dehydration and by the heat, drank a large quantity of water all at once. To much to quickly to his system, he expired from this shortly after and died. He was only 19. Oral History from my aunt Myrtle West Cates.

Funeral Card:

"There is no Death! What seems so is transition;
This life of Mortal breath
Is but a suburb of the life elysian
Whose portal we call Death."

"A precious one from us has gone,
A voice we loved is stilled.
A place is vacant in our home,
Which never can be filled.
God in his wisdom has recalled
The boon his love had given
And though the body slumbers here
The soul is safe in heaven."
