Rev. Scott, 71, Buried at Amity
The Rev. William Jennings Bryan Scott, 71-year-old retired minister and farmer, who resided on route two, Woodland, died at 3:30 pm, Saturday, Oct. 19, at his home.
Funeral services were conducted from the Amity Baptist Church at 2 pm, Sunday, Oct. 20, with the Rev. Charles James, the Rev. Carl Morris and the Rev. Ray Williams officiating. Interment was in the Amity Cemetery with Houston Funeral Home in charge.
He was born in Clay county on Sept. 28, 1897, the son of W H Scott and Lou Ellen Speed Scott. He was a member of the Amity Church of God.
He leaves his wife, Mrs. Eula Carpenter Scott of Woodland; two sons, J B Scott and Kenny Scott, both of Woodland; four daughters, Mrs. A R Reeves of Columbus, Mrs. Ed Brand and Mrs. P A Morgan, both of Woodland, and Mrs. David Forrester of Pheba; four brothers, Henry Scott of Mobile, Moody Scott of Reform, Ala., A D Scott of San Antonio, and W T Scott of Abingdon, Maryland; two sisters, Mrs. C D Hill, and Mrs. H G House, both of Columbus. Twenty grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren also survive.
