Jo Frances Mays, 88 of Maysville passed away Tuesday morning, February 22, 2011 at her home. She was born February 4, 1923 at Maysville, OK to Carroll and Allie (Winegarner) Miller.

Jo Frances grew up in the Lindsay area, graduating from Lindsay High School in 1941. On June 17, 1944 she married Thomas G. Mays and they have made their home in Maysville for over 66 years. During World War II, Jo Frances worked at Douglas Defense Plant as a "Rosie the Riveter". When they owned Mays Auto Supply, she helped Tommy at the store. Jo Frances was involved in her sons' school activities and was a den mother when they were in Cub Scouts. She was a member of the LaMadre Mother's Club, and the First Baptist Church, where she had helped teach Vacation Bible School. Jo Frances was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She will be dearly missed by all her family and friends.

Her survivors include her husband, Tommy of the home. Sons: Joe Thomas Mays and his wife, Betty of Maysville; and J. Mays and his wife, Carrie of London, England. A sister, Laura Sue Burford of Heath, Texas. Grandchildren: Morgan Mays of Florida; and Lisa Wagner and her husband, Barry of Edmond. Great grandchildren: Tyler and Madison Wagner of Edmond.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Harry Miller.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Maysville First Baptist Church Building Fund.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Friday, February 25, 2011 at the First Baptist Church, Maysville, OK with Rev. Jim Paslay and Rev. Steve Spangler officiating. Burial will be in the Maysville Cemetery under the direction of John Williams of Winans Funeral Home, Maysville, OK. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.winansfuneralhome.com
