Miss Rosetta Usher Crowther, 88, of Smithsburg, died at Fahney-Keedy Memorial Home Wednesday evening of complications after a brief illness. Born in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Dr. David William Crowther and Catherine C. (Brundige) Crother. She was a member of St. Anne Episcopal Church of Smithsburg and a former organist and Sunday School teacher. Surviving are a brother, George Rodney Crowther, of Leitersburg; two nieces and five nephews.

The funeral will be Saturday at St. Ann's Epicopal Church, Smithsburg, at 2 p.m., the Rev. Wade L. Hampton officiating. Burial will be in Smithsburg Cemetery. The family will meet friends at the Fahney-Keedy Memorial Home 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, and on Saturday until noon, where the body may be viewed.
