Charles S. Cook, Blanchard, Idaho, formerly of Irwin, died in Veterans Hospital, Spokane, Wash., Friday afternoon. He was born July 27, 1888, in Irwin. He was an alumnus of Mercerburg Academy, 1907, Duff's Business College, 1910, and Davies Tree Institute of Kent, Ohio, 1915. He was a landscape engineer. He was a veteran of World War I where he served with the U.S. Army in the AEF. He also served on the Manhattan Project in Hartford, Wash., in World War II. He was a son of the late Casper S. and Sarah Knappenberger Cook. Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Ida C. Kohl, Irwin, and Mrs. Emily Patterson, Greensburg. He was a member of Community Church, Blanchard, Lodge 57, F&AM, Spirit Lake, Idaho, and VFW Post 781 of Irwin. Friends will be received at William N. Snyder Funeral Home, 521 Main St., Irwin, 2-5, 7-9 p.m. Services will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m., followed by interment in Irwin Union Cemetery.
