CLARA ELLEN OWRE
The funeral for Clara Ellen Owre,
a longtime resident of North Portland,
will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in the
Lombard Little Chapel of the Chimes.
Burial will be at Columbian Cemetery.
Mrs. Owre died Tuesday in a Portland
care center of causes related to age.
She was 86.
She was born Clara Ellen Mason
on March 8, 1906, in Oregon City.
She graduated from
Gresham High School in 1924
and married Samuel L. Owre
that year on Sept. 2.
Mrs. Owre, a homemaker,
also had worked as a bookkeeper for
the Bonneville Power Administration
for 20 years.
She had been a member of
University Park Baptist Church
and was a past grand noble
of a Rebekah lodge.
Her husband Samuel died in 1986.
Survivors include her daughter,
Claire Coppersmith of Vancouver, Wash.;
her sons, Benjamin of Salem
and William of Oakridge;
her sister, Shirley Carson
of Richland, Wash.; 14 grandchildren;
and 15 great-grandchildren.
Her daughter Alice Bradley died in 1985.
