Joseph Henry Siefker, 62, died Friday at Bulloch Memorial Hospital after a short illness.

The Ohio native had lived in Statesboro the past 21 years. He was retired from the U.S. Air Force and was a member of the St. Matthew Catholic Church.

Mr. Siefker is survived by his wife, Mrs. Bernice B. Siefker, Statesboro; two sons, Andrew Seifker, Chandler, Ariz., and David Siefker, Korea; and five sisters, Mrs. Mary Curran, Mrs. Alice Kiplinger, Mrs. Dora Rice, all of Lima, Ohio. Mrs. Elizabeth Darnell, Celina, Ohio, and Mrs. Martha Steinke, Sidney, Ohio.

The funeral mass for Mr. Seifker will be Monday at 11 a.m. at the St. Matthew Catholic Church with Father Lawrence Lucree officiating. Burial will be in the Bulloch Memorial Gardens.

A rosary service will Sunday at 6:30 p.m. at Hodges-Turner Funeral Home. Family visitation will begin Sunday at 4 p.m.at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the High Hope Center or to Joseph's Home for Boys.
