John Horatio Phinney was born to Darwin Deloss and Sarah Ann(Slown)Phinney on 9 Aug 1856 in Lodi,Columbia, Wisconsin. He married Fannie Louise Harned on 11 Sept 1879 in Gridley, McLean, Illinois. He died on 5 May 1934 in Ponca City, Kay,Oklahoma. His tombstone says May 4 but his death certificate says he died on May 5. He and Fannie had 8 children and two of them are buried in this cemetery. They are Abbie Judith Shaw and Ethel Mae Schafer. The oldest of their children was Daisy Louise b 1880,d 1949, Corwin Deloss, 1882,d 1962, Maud, b & d 1886, Ethel Mae 1887 d 1919, Abbie Judith, 1889 d 1955, baby Phinney b&d 1885, Twins Hattie E and Flora B. b 1899 Hattie died 1985 and Flora died 1977. John H and Fannie were living with their daughter Daisy in Ponca City when J.H. died. Their daughter Daisy was not buried in the veterans area at Odd Fellows in Ponca City because of her father serving in the Union. John was not even old enough to serve. She was a officer in an Auxillary's groups for one of the war's that her 1rst husband served in.
