Grace L. Davis, fifth child of John and Maria Davis, was born april 7, 1875 on a farm southwest of Davis City and departed this life in the Decatur County hospital on April 15, 1962, at the age of 87 years and 8 days.
She was united in marriage to Mack Woodard who preceded her in death in Nov, 1942. She later married Leonard Aldrich of Illinois in July 1947.
All of her life was spent around Davis City, except a few years in Oklahoma and California.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother, two brothers, Douglas and Clayton Davis, one sister, Arizona Frost.
She leaves to mourn her passing, her husband, Leonard Aldrich, one adopted son, Chester Woodard, Tucson, Arizona; two sisters, Millie McLain, Davis City and Charity Walters, Denver, Colo.; also a host of relatives and friends.
She was a charter member of the Assembly of God church in Davis City and the oldest charter member.
Funeral services were held April 18 at the Assembly of God church, Davis City conducted by Rev. George Lamb and Everett Hollingshead. The Stewart Funeral home was in charge. Burial was made in Davis City cemetery.
