Lois Adeline Miller, 79, of Engadine died Tuesday evening, March 22, 2011 at her home.

Born June 22, 1931 in LaGrange County, IN, Lois Troyer was the daughter of the late Clarence Troyer and Wavia I. Troyer. As a child, she moved to this area with her family as part of a Mennonite church planting effort. She was a 1949 graduate of Gould City High School and a 1952 graduate of Goshen College in Goshen, IN, returning to Engadine where she taught elementary school for a number of years.

On June 19, 1954, she married Richard Miller. Lois devoted her life to raising and caring for her children and grandchildren.

She remained committed to the church as an active member of the Wildwood Mennonite Church. Lois taught Summer Bible School and Sunday school. She enjoyed music, leading singing and organizing community singing events. She participated faithfully in the women's sewing group.

Lois Miller farmed with her husband, actively participating in the development of Richlo Dairy Farms. She enjoyed playing piano, gardening, quilting, knitting and reading.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son David D. Miller.

Survivors included her loving husband, Richard Miller of Engadine; children Alan (Kelly) of Waterloo, WI, Roderick (Melanie) of Elkhart, IN, Wendell (Debra) of Engadine, Christine (Steve) Yoder of Bellefontaine, OH, Jonathan (Diane) of Engadine, Rachel (Steve) Nolt of Goshen, IN and Leighton of Engadine; grandchildren Madeline, David and Peter Miller, Cadence Miller, Matthias and Imani Miller, Heather, Bethany, Grace and Rose Yoder, Nathanael, Robert, Abigail and Jonah Miller, Lydia and Esther Nolt; siblings Esther (Jim) Shaum of Engadine, Calvin (Jimmie) Troyer of Bangs, TX, John (Maxine) Troyer of Engadine, James (Ann) Troyer of Manistique, Stanley (Marilyn) Troyer of Niles, Kenneth (Joan) Troyer of Engadine and Janice (Bill) Wagner of Engadine.
