Jean was born January 9, 1929 in St. Louis, MO, to the late Albert and Lily Jacqueline (Lale) Kountz.
Beloved wife of the late Kenneth Weber; loving Mother of Judith (Gerry) Chen, Mark (Gloria Overturf) Weber, Barbara (David) Pitts, Katherine (Richard) Dallos, Lauren (Ed) Juliette, and Kenneth KC (Kelly Holben) Weber, Jr; 15 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; preceded in death by her brother Donald Kountz and son-in-law, Joseph Drummond. Dear friend to many.
Jean was a graduate of Southwest High School and Harris Teachers College in St. Louis. She worked as a summer camp counselor at Camp Wyman. She developed a lifelong enjoyment of music and was known for her beautiful singing voice. Jean particularly loved Broadway musicals, hymns, and opera.
Jean was a teacher for over 40 years with the public school system of St. Louis. She taught language arts to seventh and eighth graders at the Long Middle and Humbolt Visual and Performing Arts Schools. She also served for many years as president of the local School Board of Grandview R2 School District in Ware, MO.
Her husband Kenneth was a firefighter for the St. Louis City Fire Dept. before becoming a teacher at Grandview Elementary School. Jean and Ken raised their children at Woodfield Farm in rural Dittmer, MO.
