Word has been received here of the death of Dr. John M. Firmin, 71, which occurred at his home in Findlay on Monday of this week.
Dr. Firman has practiced medicine in Findlay for the past 42 years, the last 15 of which has been chief of staff of Findlay Hospital. During World War I, he was a Major, serving as chief of surgical service in a base hospital in Angers, France. He studied at Oberlin College, Wooster School of Medicine, and Western Reserve University, and spent two years in research work with Dr. George W. Crile. He was a member of the Elks and a 32nd-degree Mason.
Dr. Firmin was known to a number here, having visited many times. Mrs. Firmin is the former Miss Blanche Crites of Lakeside.
Surviving are his wife and two sons; Dr. Richard Firman of Zanesville and John C. Firmin of Newark New Jersey. Funeral services were held from the First Presbyterian Church, Findlay, on Wednesday.
