She especially enjoyed working with young people at Shead High School, where she was a teacher's aide. She was a beloved coach of the girls basketball team for many years. In later years she became a "cheerleader" with her good friends, who were known as "The Slipper Ladies" because of their fuzzy tiger slippers. They attended all of the basketball games to support the Shead Tigers.
Besides her parents, Freda was predeceased by her brother, Clarence Call; her sisters, Mary McCoy and Grace Morse; nephews, Wayne, Glen and Elmer; and her nieces, Linda and Sharon.
Surviving are two sisters, Thelma Lank of Eastport and Estella Snow of Portsmouth, NH; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Burial will be at Hillside Cem., Eastport, ME. (Mays Funeral Home)
