Jotham Wilder was the son of Thomas Wilder and Susanna Hunt. He married Phoebe Wheeler of Mayflower descent. They had 8 children: Steven, Titus, Phoebe, Susanna, Jotham, Reuben Wheeler, Abigail and Sarah. Jotham served in French and Indian War and the Revolutionary War and was a true Patriot to his country. He died in 1801 at the remarkable age of 91.

Inscription

AKA Mather Cemetery: The smaller portion of a headstone on the right is thought to be Jotham Wilder's grave marker. There is no name left on it and it only contains a tree. The metal marker was placed in the early 1900's by the DAR and reads: (The Letters) S A R 1715 Jotham Wilder 1710-1801.
