She was born Lettie Josephine BRYANT. She was adopted in Sequatchie County, Tennessee by Phillip H. and Lucy Nelson 7 Nov 1892. She was not on the 1900 Indian Territory (future Oklahoma) Census with the rest of the Nelson Family and is assumed to be dead. Her mother (Sallie) in the 1900 Tennessee Census wote that she had had seven children born alive, but only six were still living, so apprently she knew that the little girl had died.
