She worked as a secretary for the West Virginia Department of Highways. She enjoyed reading, sewing, and sailing. She is survived by her husband Brady L. Adkins of Summerfield, Florida; sister Peggy Hoffman of Charleston, WV; one grandchild; and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her son Brady L. Adkins, Jr. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, April 15, 2011 at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services – The Villages, 1511 Buenos Aires Blvd. A committal service will follow at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Marion County, PO Box 4860 Ocala, Florida 34476.
