Mr. Poole served in the United States Navy during World War II aboard the naval vessel LST 1044.
He was retired from the IBM Corporation in Manassas, VA.
Mr. Poole served the Lord faithfully for many years at Nokesville Gospel Chapel. He was preceded in death by two sons, David Earl Poole (d. 1997), and Gary Stafford Poole at birth.
He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Teva D. Poole and one sister Nora Jenkins of Collinsville, VA. He is also survived by three daughters, Carol Via and her husband Gary, Joan Ritenour and her husband James, Laurenda Poole, and one daughter-in-law Edith Poole; four sons, William and his wife Kelly, Mark and his wife Heidi, Daniel and his wife Terri, Paul and his wife Crystal; eleven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 12th, 2011 from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at the Baker-Post Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 10001 Nokesville Road, Manassas, VA. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, April 13th, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel.
Private interment will be held at Quantico National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Bethel Campgrounds, Inc., P.O. Box 71, Woolwine, VA 24185 or Tri-County Jail Ministries, Inc., P.O. Box 188, Nokesville, VA 20182. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Baker-Post Funeral Home & Cremation Center, under the direction of Michael Ward.
