MRS. A.A. JEWETT
Gertrude E. Past was born Glen Union, Penn., December 16. 1887. She was united in marriage to Adam A. Jewett at Buffalo, Minn., on Oct. 28, 1885. To this union were born seven children, four of which died in infancy and three living, Harry H., Calvin C., and Eva G. Jewett, all of Minneapolis.
The family resided at Maple Lake, Minn., until 1903, when they moved to California. From California the family moved to Barlow, N. Dak., and from there to Annandale, Minn. They resided at Annandale for 13 years, moving from there to Duluth, Minn., and then to Minneapolis where she has made her home until the time of her death.
She died at the Swedish hospital at Minneapolis after an illness of over a year. Everything that could be done was used to save her life. Four blood transfusions were made but all to no avail.
Besides her children she is survived by her husband, Adam A. Jewett; her mother, Mrs. M.M. Past and one sister, Mrs. Geo. Rackliff of Arcadia, Calif., as well as one brother, J.C. Past, of Floodwood, Minn. She also leaves one grand-child, and a number other relatives and many friends.
Mrs. Jewett, at the time of her death was 57 years, 4 months and 2 days of age. She was a member of the Annandale M.E. church and also belonged to the Rebekkah lodge of Annandale and Ladies of the Maccabees.
She was a kind and loving wife and mother and all thru her life was always trying to bring sunshine and happiness into the lives of other people and was a friend to all.
Funeral services were held at the M.E. church Monday at two o'clock p.m., Rev. Kishpaugh officiating. Interment was made in Woodlawn cemetery.
