Rebecca Rodgers was married to James Morton on July 26, 1839 in Sangamon County, Illinois "before breakfast".
~~~~~~~~~
In "History of the early settlers of Sangamon County, Illinois: centennial record", pages 625-626 (published in 1876), Rebecca is named as the daughter of Robert B. Rodgers and Catharine A. Huggins. The family moved to Medina county, Ohio, then moved onto Sangamon County, Illinois, arriving in the spring of 1837 of what was called Clear Lake township (in 1876), east of the river.
At the time of the publication, it's stated that Rebecca was born May 30, 1821 in Dauphin county, Pa., and married James Morton in Sangamon County. They had 8 living children (in 1876): THOMAS, who married Sarah Smith and lives near Sadoris, Ill.; AMANDA who married Avery Constant (which must be a mistake as records show she married Nathan Constant) and lives near Williamsville, Ill.; MARY C. married James W. Wilson; CAROLINE married Jefferson Yocom; JOSEPHINE, LUCY J., ANN R., and JAMES W., live at home with their parents.
Rebecca and James are living near Sadoris, Champaign county, Illinois (1874)
