On double marker with Gaston Dabney Cogdell (1920-2000)

Born on August 29, 1920, William Jenelle Cathey Cogdell was born the last of six girls to William and Maude Etta Cathey in Throckmorton, Texas.

As a young girl, she loved softball and tennis and was chosen Miss Throckmorton. As Miss Throckmorton, she went on to the Miss Texas Pageant, where she was first runner-up. She graduated Salutatorian.

Abilene Christian College was her college of choice where she majored in Education and minored in Music.

It was at the ACC talent show, where she was singing "Unforgettable," that Gaston Dabney Cogdell first saw and heard her. It was love at first sight.

Five years later, Gaston and Jenelle were married in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania where Gaston was serving in the Navy in WWII. She was his perfect match.

Jenelle served the Lord faithfully, loving his church and working tirelessly to see it grow. She held everything that was confided to her in her heart.

She was preceded in death by her husband, after 58 years of marriage, in 2000.

She was a Texan last and always-living her four last happy and thankful years with one of her daughters and her daughter's family, the Bhagwandins.

She passed away peacefully into God's care on April 5, 2014. She is survived by three daughters, Dabney Cogdell, Shalmah Prince (Richard Prince), Sarah Bhagwandin (Bryon Bhagwandin), four grandchildren Amy Jones, Emily Medley, Samuel and Leila Bhagwandin and five great-grandchildren, Ashley and Megan Thomas and Savannah, Maxwell and Leopold Medley.

A Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 8, 2014 in Granbury, Texas.
