Paul was born December 15, 1922 in Hominy, OK, son of George H. Blackwood and Eva (Duncan) Blackwood. Paul grew up and received his education in Hominy, OK, graduating with the Hominy High School class of 1940. Paul was highly involved in various activities throughout high school and furthered his education by attending Oklahoma State University. Paul was united in marriage to Marjorie Walsh in 1942 at the First Presbyterian Church of Hominy. Paul enlisted in the U.S. Army on the 5th of March 1943 where he served in the European Theatre of Operations with Eisenhower's Supreme Headquarters Allied Expeditionary Forces. Paul was honorably discharged as First Sergeant on the 20th of January 1946. Paul and Marjorie made their home in Bartlesville, OK in 1947 as Paul became employed with Phillips Petroleum Company, retiring after 38 years of loyal service, in 1985. Paul was a long-time member and deacon of the First Baptist Church of Bartlesville, a member of the American Legion and a past member on the Board of Directors for the 66 Federal Credit Union. Paul was an avid golfer and devout Christian. He will be remembered for his sense of humor and as a great husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend.
