My 3rd Great Grand Father Samuel Bolen (Bolin) was one of the early settlers in the area along with brothers Benjamin and William. William founded the Bolin's Mill on Raccoon Creek on U.S. 50 about 11 miles west of here. William is buried at the Weaver Chapel Cemetery on Weaver Chapel Road just off U.S. 50. Benjamin at the Chase Cemetery. Other Bolins are at the Bolin Cemetery on U.S. 50 near the old mill site, and Weaver Chapel Cemetery.

Note that the "Bolin" Cemetery in many older online sources is actually the Hudnall Family Cemetery on Cherry Ridge Rd. about 11 miles southeast of the Bolin Cemetery on U.S. 50.
