Orphaned son of Stephen and Sarah Hopper Parton. Husband of an unknown woman born about 1845, marriage year not known. Married Jennie Hannah Beaver on 16 OCT 1890 in Edina, Knox County, Missouri.

George and his first wife would have had at least three children, Milan Parton born about 1885; James T. Parton, born August 1887 and Laura Leola Parton Mitchell born November 11, 1888.

George joined the Confederate Army during the Civil War, serving until the end of the war.

George Parton died Saturday at his home in the southwest part of town. He had been in failing health for a year from heart disease but suffered a stroke of paralysis last Sunday.
He is survived by his wife and eight children. The children are, Mrs. Arthur Mitchell, Mrs. Claude Mryant, John, Lloyd, Donald, Leslie, George and Orville Parton.
Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Donavan of the Catholic church.
