May 27 at the Sumner
Community Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services were held
Saturday at 3:30 p.m. at the
Emcrson-Milnes Funeral Home
with Rev. Paul C. Ellis, pastor
of Salem United Methodist
Church officiating. Burial was
in Greenwood Cemetery near
Westgate.
Jesse Russell Johnson was
born Oct. 29, 1886 at Agency,
Iowa in Wapcllo County, the son
ot William and Addalinc Sterner
Johnson.
He was a resident of the Sumner
area since 1909 and was a
retired farmer.
Survivors include one son,
Blllic of Sumner; four daughters,
Mabel, Mrs. Frank Miller
of Fayette; Edylhe, Mrs. Herbert
Johnson of Sumner; Lana, Mrs.
Kenneth Kaeppel of Waterloo;
and Fannie, Mrs. Ray Johnson
of Sumner; 15 grandchildren; 24
great grandchildren; and six
great great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by
his parents, two sisters, Fannie
McCoy and Lana Rill, four
grandchildren and two great
grandchildren.
