Funeral services were held Friday afternoon for John A. Taylor of Lyle, who died early Wednesday morning, November 6, at St. Joseph Hospital in Vancouver, from the result of an injury to an arm.

Mr. Taylor was born January 21, 1872 at Manhattan, Kansas. He crossed the plains with his parents when five years of age. The family located in Lewis County about three miles east of Toledo, where the Taylors were early pioneers of this locality. In 1893 Mr. Taylor was married to Nellie Omeg, who preceded him in death in 1934. In 1919 the Taylor family moved to Lyle, where they had since lived. Mr. Taylor had many friends who mourn his passing.

Survivors are five daughters, Mrs. Cassie Smith and Mrs. Birdie Allie, Toldeo; Mrs. Lena Layton, Chehalis; Mrs. Rose Blair, Satkum and Mrs. Mae Fulton, Portland; five sons, Robert, Charley, Ben Andrew and Victor Taylor of Lyle; and two sisters, Mrs. Lyle Tanner of Santa Rosa, California and Mrs. Lillie Bowen of Yakima. Funeral services were held in the Hartland Church. Burial was in the family plot of Hartland Cemetery beside Mrs. Taylor.
