Clifford 'Russell' Tilson

ELWOOD -- Clifford "Russell" Tilson, 66, died Monday in the Lexington hospital. He was born Sept. 22, 1917, at Elwood.

Mr. Tilson lived on a farm northwest of Elwood until 1961 when he moved into Elwood. He has been engaged in construction work until his retirement in 1982. He was a 50-year-member of the Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Jane, of Elwood; two sons, Robert of Omaha and Charles of Elwood; four daughters, Lola [Mrs. David] Rule of Omaha; Mrs. Connie Tucker of Lafayette, Colo., Cheryl [Mrs. Kenneth] Newbrey of Cozad and Candice [Mrs. Robert] Loghry of Elwood; one sister, Mrs. Mardell Lierman of Boulder, Colo.; and 12 grand children.

Services will be Friday at 10:30 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Elwood with the Rev. Clair Kess officiating. Burial will be in the Elwood Cemetery.

A memorial has been established.

Visitation will be Thursday from 7-9 p.m. at the Clark-Berryman Funeral Home in Elwood.

Sixty-six year old Russell Tilson passed away November 21, 1983 at the Tri-County Hospital in Lexington. He was born September 22, 1917 at Elwood. He lived on a farm northwest of Elwood until 1961 when he moved to town. He had been engaged in construction work until his retirement in 1982. He was a 50 year member of the Methodist Church.

Service were Friday, November 25, 1983, at 10:30 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Elwood with Rev. Clair Kess officiating.

Honorary pallbearers were Paul Tilson, Harold Elliot, Ray Carter, Veryl Dannehl, Art Oelkers, Vaughn Leggott, Archie Schroeder and Thomas Tucker. Casketbearers were Harlan Gydesen, Russ and Richard Rule, Robert Frescoln, Keith and Sherle Leggott. Music was provided by Mr. and Mrs. Robert Yost with Ella Ewer as organist.

Interment was in the Elwood Cemetery. Clark-Berryman Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Clifford Russell Tilson and Jane Mae Miller married 24 Dec 1938 in Powell, Park Co., WY. They were the parents of six children: Lola Jane, Connie Lea, Robert Russell, Cheryl Kathleen, Candice Sue and Charles Swain.
