ELWOOD - Jane Tilson, 83, of Elwood died Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2003, at Elwood Care Center.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Elwood United Methodist Church with the Revs. Bonnie Linton-Hendrick and Roger Gillming officiating. Burial will be at Elwood Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday at the church in Elwood.

Berryman Funeral Home in Cozad is in charge of arrangements.

Jane Tilson, age 83, of Elwood, died December 23, 2003 at the Elwood Care Center.

She was born May 6, 1920 at Harmon, North Dakota to Frederick and Leta Osborne Miller. She attended school at Powell, Wyoming.

On December 24, 1938, she married Clifford Russell Tilson. They moved back to Nebraska where they lived in and around Elwood most of their married life. Mr. Tilson preceded her in death in 1983.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and was past president of the United Methodist Women. She served on the Pastor's Parish and was active in other areas of the church. She was past president of the Alexis Extension Club, a 4-H leader and a member of the Lexington Community Hospital Auxiliary. She enjoyed attending her grandchildren's school and sports activities, taking part in a card club and being a fan of the Nebraska Cornhuskers.

Survivors include four daughters, Lola [David] Rule of LaVista, Connie [Ronald] Capron of Johnstown, Colorado, Cheryl [Preston] Adams of Elwood and Candice [Robert] Loghry of LaVista; two sons, Robert [Carol] of Omaha and Charles [Charlene] of Elwood; a sister, Ruby Lane of Wyoming; two sisters-in-law, Mardelle Lierman of Colorado and Lucille Miller of Wyoming; 12 grandchildren, Russell & Richard Rule, Shellby Saenz, Thomas Tucker, Brenda Malouff, David Newbrey, Robyn Watchorn-Newbrey, Dianna and Donald DeMoss, Nicole Walker and Shane and Matthew Tilson and 23 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three sisters, Katherine, Loraine and Evelyn and four brothers, Harry, Floyd, Virgil and Ervin.

A memorial has been established in her memory.
