LAWRENCE LEERHOFF

Services for Lawrence Leerhoff, 1864 Independence Avenue, Waterloo, were held Thursday, January 8 at Kearns-Dykeman chapel, Waterloo with burial in Oak Hill Cemetery, Parkersburg. Mr. Leerhoff died at his home at 5:30 a.m. Monday, January 5 of a heart attack at the age of 62.

He attended high school in Parkersburg, and as a young man enlisted in the Navy. He married Ramona Sylvester in Greene on May 21, 1943. while living in Greene, he was employed for several years at the Oliver Plant in Charles City. Later, he moved to Waterloo, and was employed at the Rath Packing Company for 15 years and then famed north east of Parkersburg for 10 years. He retired in 1972, and lived for two years in Arkansas, moving back to Waterloo early in 1975. In May 1975, he suffered a heart attack and was hospitalized for several weeks.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, one in infancy and one sister. He is survived by his wife, two sisters, Grace Leerhoff and Lela Leerhoff of Waterloo, and three brothers, Heiko of San Diego, California, Clarence of Allison and Clifford of Waterloo.
