Willie Sunderman was born in Illinois and is listed in the 1870 Grand Rapids, La Salle County census. He would have made the trip to Cass County with the family in 1875 and they settled on a farm just West of Lyman, Iowa. If anyone can find a newspaper article from the Griswold paper we might find something on the cause of death. We have no pictures of Willie. His stone is located close to Simon and Charlotte (his Mother). The Age on the stone is questionable. The Church records in LaSalle Co. IL show a birth date of 17 Jan 1870 for August Wilhelm. This is the date I have shown above. Jan to July would be 6 months on the 17th of Jul and then 29 days. Where as you back off 20 days to 26 July and then 5 months to Feb 26. Notes by Bud S.
