Richard C. Andrews,77, of Avoca,N.Y. died Monday, April 1,2002, at the Bath Veterans Administration Medical Center. Mr. Andrews was born in Bath, N.Y. October 9, 1924 the son of the late Edwin and Sara (Dolliver) Andrews. He was employed by Haverling Central School as a bus driver and mechanic. He was an Army Veteran from 1945 to 1947 during WW11. Richard was a 37 year member of the Charles E. Wescott American Legion Post 173 in Bath and a 16 year member of the Bath Elks Lodge 1547.
He is survived by his wife, Carol (Sanford)Andrews of Avoca,N.Y.; two sons, Robert Andrews and Larry (Donna) Andrews both of Bath,N.Y.; his step-son, Richard Shutt of Bath,N.Y. and his step-daughter, Trish (Rob) Smith of Moss Point, Miss.; 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Wiliam Andrews of Tacoma, Wa., and Harold Andrews Houston, Texas' his sister, Patricia Brown of Pa; 2 sisters-in-law, Mabel (Ralph) Wenchler and Anna L. Bean both of Pa. And several nieces and nephews. Richard was predeceased by his first wife, Helen Andrews in April 1984 and his son, Richard Andrews in 1996.
Friends mat call today , April 3, from 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 P.M. at Fagons funeral Home, 31 West Morris Street, Bath, N.Y. The Funeral Service will be held Thursday, April 4th. at 2:00p.m. at the funeral home with Reverand Moses Baker officiating. Burial will be in the Grove Cemetery, Bath,N.Y. In lieu of flowers, Memorial donations, in Mr. Andrews name may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1400 Winton Road North, Rochester, N.Y. 41606
