She is survived by her devoted daughter and best friend, Betty Murphy of Fleming Island, and her loving sons, Robert E. (Patra) Murphy of Fleming Island, Ronald J. (Sharon) Murphy of Callahan, and Michael A. (Carolyn) Murphy of Hilliard. She was Grandmother, Mam- maw and Ma-Maw to seven grandchildren; Michelle (Rob) Singleton, Rob Murphy, Jason, April and Troy Murphy, Justin (Tiffany) Murphy and Rachel (Brad) Hughes. She is also survived by her great grandchildren, Kennedy and Kerigan Murphy, Nathan and Juliana Singleton, Madison and MaKenzie Murphy and Bryson Hughes, a loving niece and nephew, Roxanne Diesel and Bryan Collinsworth. Her caretaker, Chris Sylvester, became a dear friend to her and all of us.
She loved the Lord and was an active member of Westside Baptist Church before her stroke in 1991. She was a true lady. She had impeccable taste when it came to interior decorating. In her earlier years, she was a wonderful cook and loved to bake. She enjoyed many crafts, but tole painting was her true gift. She painted on many primitive pieces and enjoyed teaching her art as well. Her love of Jesus, family, ice cream, board games and canasta has been instilled in all of us for generations to come.
Visitation will be held at Fraser Funeral Home, 8168 Normandy Blvd., Jacksonville, FL (781-4314), Friday, August 29 from 5pm to 7pm. Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 30, at 10am at the chapel of Fraser Funeral Home.
