Funeral services for Mrs. Bertha Agnes Turney, 78, who died Tuesday at a local hospital will be 2 p.m. Thursday at the Ninth Street Methodist Church, the Rev. Joe Higgenbotham and Rev. Jerry Smith officiating. Burial will be in City Cemetery, Guntharp Funeral Home directing.
Survivors include the widower, John N. Turney of Decatur; a son, Glenn Turney of Knoxville, Tenn; two daughters, Mrs. John (Louise) Noe of Huntsville and Mrs. J.L. Truss of Somerville; a brother, Cornal Jennings of Valhermoso Springs; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Nephews will be pallbearers.
The body will be returned to the residence today where it will remain until time to be taken to the church to lie in state one hour before services.
She was a member of Ninth Street Methodist Church and had celebrated her 60th wedding anniversary on Monday.
